Pakistan’s Drone Offensive Triggers Indian Air Strikes on Major Airbases
Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, India’s armed forces launched retaliatory strikes against four major Pakistani airbases after Pakistan launched a series of drone attacks across 26 locations in India. These sites, which include Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat, were targeted by drones in a well-coordinated assault late on Friday night. India responded swiftly, striking three key Pakistani airbases in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Reports from the Indian Army confirmed the interception of several drones by India’s air defense systems, preventing widespread damage across several sensitive areas. Despite these efforts, three civilians in Ferozpur, Punjab were injured by debris from a downed drone.

Pakistan Claims Damage to Airbases, Vows Retaliation
During a press conference held at 4 a.m. on Saturday, Pakistan’s military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry accused India of launching a “sinister act” and claimed that Pakistan’s air defense systems successfully intercepted many of the missiles fired by Indian jets. He confirmed that Nur Khan Airbase (Rawalpindi), Murid Airbase (Chakwal), and Rafiqui Airbase (Shorkot) were hit in the airstrikes.
Chaudhry stated that Pakistan’s air assets remained unharmed, despite damage to several airbase infrastructures. He warned of imminent retaliation, vowing that “India should wait for our response.”
The Pakistani military’s statements come as the region sees a dangerous escalation, with India confirming that four airbases were targeted in total, though details of the fourth base are awaited.

Indian Drone Interception Efforts Prevent Significant Damage
In India’s northwestern regions, reports from the Indian Army describe multiple sightings of drones over sensitive military zones. These areas included Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Udhampur, Nagrota, Reasi, Awantipora, Poonch, and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Pathankot and Amritsar in Punjab. Indian air defense systems intercepted the drones, preventing major infrastructural damage or casualties.
Despite this, the drone attacks caused damage to civilian property, particularly in Punjab’s Ferozpur district, where three people were injured by falling debris from a drone. Indian defense forces have heightened vigilance, ensuring extensive coastal and border surveillance to monitor any further air or missile threats.
