India’s Global Influence Grows Without ‘Manufacturing’ News, Says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the NXT Conclave at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, emphasized that India no longer needs to “manufacture” news to stay in the global spotlight. Instead, the country is making headlines daily by setting new records across various sectors, from infrastructure to technology and cultural heritage.
“Today, India stands as a country that consistently generates positive news. Here, there is no need to ‘manufacture’ news. Every day, new records are being created,” said PM Modi, citing the recent Maha Kumbh of Unity in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, as an example.
The Prime Minister highlighted how the world is amazed at India’s capability to host events on an unprecedented scale, referencing the recently concluded Maha Kumbh.
“On February 26, the Maha Kumbh of Unity concluded in Prayagraj. The world is amazed at how it is possible that crores of people came to a temporary city on the bank of a river to take a holy dip. The world is witnessing the organizing and innovating skills of India,” he said.
The event, which drew millions of pilgrims, showcased India’s logistical efficiency, cultural depth, and governance capabilities in managing large-scale events.
PM Modi also underscored India’s growing self-reliance in manufacturing, stating that the nation is no longer just a consumer but a global producer in key industries.
“From semiconductors to aircraft carriers, India is producing everything domestically, capturing global interest. The world wants to know this India in detail,” he remarked.
This statement highlights India’s increasing role in advanced manufacturing, particularly in defense, electronics, and technology, as the country aims to reduce dependence on imports while becoming a leading exporter.
PM Modi also spoke about India’s growing influence in global policy-making, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
“Recently, I got the opportunity to attend the AI Action Summit in France. India was the co-host of this AI Summit, which will take the world forward. Now, it’s India’s turn to host the Summit,” he said.
The AI Action Summit in Paris, which India co-chaired with France, focused on key themes such as:
This collaboration underscores India’s commitment to shaping the future of AI while balancing innovation with ethical considerations.
PM Modi also pointed out India’s growing diplomatic footprint, citing the successful hosting of the G20 Summit in 2023 and the launch of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
“During the G20 Summit, India gave the world a new economic route – the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor,” he said, referring to the ambitious connectivity project that aims to boost trade and transport between India, the Middle East, and Europe.
Additionally, he noted India’s efforts in championing the Global South, with the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent G20 member, and reaffirmed the country’s prioritization of island nations in global diplomacy.
