In a major boost to regional development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 44 infrastructure projects worth ₹3,880 crore in Varanasi on Friday. The ambitious initiatives aim to transform both rural and urban landscapes of the region.
These projects are focused on essential public needs like education, healthcare, roads, and drinking water.
Among the inaugurated schemes are 130 drinking water projects, 100 new anganwadi centres, 356 libraries, and a polytechnic college in Pindra, as well as a new government degree college. These developments are expected to significantly improve access to basic services and empower local communities.
PM Modi also launched infrastructure for law enforcement, including a transit hostel at the police lines, new police barracks in Ramnagar, and four rural roads, further strengthening administrative capabilities and connectivity in the area.
This initiative reflects the government’s focus on grassroots development and infrastructure-led growth.
The event was marked by the presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, underlining the importance of these projects in the state’s development roadmap.
With these new projects, Varanasi continues to emerge as a model of inclusive growth under the government’s development vision.
