According to Dawn, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told senior journalists in Islamabad that India might stage a \u201cfalse flag\u201d operation in the maritime domain during the Trishul 2025 exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLet India do whatever it wants, on land, in the sea, or in the air. India must know, this time, the response will be far more severe,\u201d the ISPR chief said, as quoted by the publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

The remarks mark a sharp escalation in rhetoric from Islamabad as India intensifies its tri-services coordination drills under Exercise Trishul 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

India\u2019s Ministry of Defence earlier confirmed the launch of Exercise Trishul, led by the Indian Navy with participation from the Army and Air Force. The exercise covers regions across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and the Arabian Sea, focusing on joint warfare preparedness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Trishul drill involves warships, submarines, fighter jets, tanks, and artillery, testing India\u2019s integrated combat capabilities and operational readiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Indian officials have described it as part of routine strategic preparedness, Pakistan\u2019s reaction reflects a heightened sense of suspicion. Defence analysts told Hindustan Times that mechanisms between both sides exist to prevent accidental encounters during overlapping maritime operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pakistan\u2019s Response: Firing Drills and Airspace Restrictions<\/b><\/h2>\n

In what observers see as a countermeasure, Pakistan\u2019s navy on Saturday issued a navigational warning for live firing drills in the northern Arabian Sea \u2014 a zone overlapping with India\u2019s Trishul operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Dawn, this was followed by a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) restricting major parts of Pakistan\u2019s southern and coastal airspace until November 30.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reports by CNN-News18, citing intelligence sources, said the repeated NOTAMs indicate both \u201canxiety and deterrence signalling\u201d by Islamabad. The network also reported that Pakistan has put its military on heightened alert, increased coastal surveillance, and repositioned air and naval assets near the Sir Creek region.<\/span><\/p>\n

Officials quoted by CNN-News18 described Pakistan\u2019s moves as acts of \u201cpanic and precaution,\u201d reflecting discomfort over the scale of India\u2019s Trishul exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the ISPR briefing also covered Pakistan\u2019s domestic security operations, claiming 62,113 counterterror operations in 2025 so far, resulting in 1,667 militants killed and 582 soldiers martyred, mostly in Balochistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

On October 2, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan against any \u201cmischief\u201d near the Sir Creek sector, promising an \u201coverwhelming response\u201d if provoked. Singh had also remarked that Pakistan was \u201cstill recovering from the blow dealt by India\u201d during the May confrontation.<\/span><\/p>\n
