Speaking to the Economic Times, he said such exits are a natural part of early-stage investing, where risks are high and returns vary significantly across companies.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"823\">PE Exits Don\u2019t Conflict With IPO Market Purpose<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"1101\">Pandey noted that investments in new-age companies involve high early-stage risks, and not all bets generate superior returns.<br data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"958\" \/>He explained that gains from successful investments offset losses from weaker ones, which is a core principle of private equity strategies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1103\" data-end=\"1337\">According to him, there is \u201cno contradiction\u201d between the broader purpose of the primary market and PE firms making partial or full exits through IPOs. However, he emphasised that the decision ultimately lies with investors, who can:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1685\">\n<li data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1624\">\n<p data-start=\"1609\" data-end=\"1624\">Reject an IPO<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1652\">\n<p data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1652\">Criticise the valuation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1685\">\n<p data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1685\">Or choose not to participate<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1687\" data-end=\"1875\">The regulator\u2019s role, he said, is not to decide what valuation is correct but to ensure that all material information is available clearly, enabling investors to make informed choices.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"1943\">SEBI Plans \u2018Concise Summary\u2019 for Better IPO Disclosure<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"2266\">Pandey highlighted that SEBI is working on reforms aimed at improving disclosure standards.<br data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2039\" \/>The regulator plans to introduce a \u201cconcise summary\u201d of all key information related to IPOs, making it easier for investors\u2014especially retail participants\u2014to understand the essentials of the company and the issue structure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2268\" data-end=\"2435\">This initiative aims to enhance transparency and provide easier comprehension of critical information that helps investors assess risks before applying for an IPO.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2442\" data-end=\"2502\">Retail Participation Strengthens Despite FPI Outflows<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2810\">While foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have been withdrawing funds from Indian markets, retail investor activity remains robust.<br data-start=\"2634\" data-end=\"2637\" \/>Pandey pointed out that around 100,000 demat accounts are being opened every day, signalling sustained interest from domestic investors despite global uncertainties.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2817\" data-end=\"2871\">CEA Warns Against Misplaced Market Celebrations<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2873\" data-end=\"3124\">In the broader market context, India\u2019s Chief Economic Adviser V.
