Indian equity benchmarks extended losses on April 23, 2026, as rising crude oil prices, foreign fund outflows, and weak global cues weighed on sentiment. The BSE Sensex<\/span><\/span> declined 852.49 points or 1.09% to close at 77,664, while the Nifty 50<\/span><\/span> slipped 205.05 points or 0.84% to end at 24,173.05, falling below the key 24,200 mark.<\/p>\n

The sell-off marked the second consecutive session of losses and wiped out more than \u20b93 lakh crore in market capitalisation, reflecting broad-based risk aversion.<\/p>\n
