The state government has since ramped up efforts to differentiate itself from other Indian states vying for Tesla\u2019s investment.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1034\">Attractive Incentives to Lure Tesla<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1118\">Andhra Pradesh is offering a comprehensive package of incentives, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1321\">\n<li data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1166\">Ready land parcels for immediate setup<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1233\">Port connectivity, allowing for easier imports and exports<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1321\">Established auto and battery manufacturing ecosystem in southern Andhra Pradesh<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1469\">Initially, Tesla is expected to focus on importing cars into India before gradually setting up a full-fledged EV manufacturing facility.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1471\" data-end=\"1750\">\n<p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1750\">\u201cThe port access will help the company in importing cars. Also, if it sets up a manufacturing plant in southern Andhra Pradesh, there is a readymade ecosystem of auto companies, battery manufacturers, and ancillary suppliers here,\u201d a source told <em data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1747\">The Economic Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 data-start=\"1752\" data-end=\"1789\">South India: A Key EV Market<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1791\" data-end=\"1967\">The state is also emphasizing South India&#8217;s dominance in EV adoption, stating that the region accounts for nearly 60% of India\u2019s four-wheeler EV sales, spread across:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"2038\">\n<li data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"1983\">Kerala<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1984\" data-end=\"2001\">Telangana<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2020\">Tamil Nadu<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2021\" data-end=\"2038\">Karnataka<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2040\" data-end=\"2176\">This makes Andhra Pradesh a strategic location for Tesla, with access to a large and rapidly growing market for electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2178\" data-end=\"2221\">Previous Attempts to Attract Tesla<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2223\" data-end=\"2296\">This is not Andhra Pradesh\u2019s first attempt to bring Tesla on board.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2298\" data-end=\"2531\">\n<li data-start=\"2298\" data-end=\"2414\">In 2017, then-Chief Minister N.
