With US President Donald Trump\u2019s tariff threats increasing market uncertainty, investors are beginning to shift their capital allocations from US equities to emerging markets like India.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe conjecture being drawn is that institutional investors will consider reducing their allocation to US markets, and that allocation will flow to other markets, including India. Some of the foreign institutional investor (FII) buying witnessed over the last few days can be attributed to this,\u201d said Ashish Khetan, Founder, Serenity Wealth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
A reversal of FII outflows has already begun, with foreign investors turning net buyers in the past three trading sessions. Between March 20-24, FIIs bought shares worth \u20b915,777.73 crore, while selling \u20b912,721.97 crore, indicating renewed confidence in Indian equities.<\/p>\n
Is the Stock Market Rebound Sustainable?<\/h2>\n
Despite the recent rally, investment advisors remain cautious. The sustainability of the uptrend will largely depend on corporate earnings growth and global trade policies in the coming months.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhether the current rally sustains or not will depend a lot on Q4 results, as Indian markets are still at higher valuations even though some of the excess valuation has come off. These valuations will sustain if corporate earnings show growth. If they falter, there will be a question mark over the current market recovery\u2019s sustainability,\u201d said Khetan.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
