In fact, India is likely the first country to receive a US Trade Representative (USTR) delegation under Trump\u2019s tariff regime. This signals India\u2019s proactive stance and its importance in America\u2019s strategic calculations.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1702\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1600\" data-end=\"1702\">\u201cIndia is among the few nations where trade talks are not just proposed but actively progressing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1704\" data-end=\"1883\">This ongoing dialogue puts India in a favorable light, especially when compared to other countries still struggling with retaliatory tariff measures and stalled trade discussions.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1885\" data-end=\"1932\">Tariffs as a Bargaining Tool for the US<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1934\" data-end=\"2215\">From Trump\u2019s perspective, the Modification Authority is more than just a legal clause \u2014 it\u2019s a powerful negotiation tool. Both countries share strategic interests in areas such as national security, defence cooperation, nuclear energy, and space technology.
