According to the company\u2019s latest annual report, Parekh\u2019s salary surged by 22% to \u20b980.6 crore, making him one of the highest-paid executives in the Indian IT sector.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"579\" data-end=\"776\">\ud83d\udc49 The major reason for this sharp increase was his higher exercise of restricted stock units (RSUs) \u2014 a type of equity compensation that forms a key part of Infosys\u2019 executive pay structure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"970\">For context, RSUs are shares given by a company to its employees or executives, typically as part of performance or retention-based plans. Infosys offers RSUs under two different plans \u2014<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1150\">\n<li data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1025\">\n<p data-start=\"973\" data-end=\"1025\">The 2015 plan, where shares vest based on time<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1150\">\n<p data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1150\">The 2019 plan, where shares vest based on performance, including total shareholder returns and operational metrics<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1152\" data-end=\"1183\">A Big Jump From Last Year<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1403\">In FY24, Parekh\u2019s total compensation was \u20b956 crore, which itself was a decline from \u20b971 crore in FY22. However, the FY25 figure marks a strong comeback, backed by better stock option gains and improved variable pay.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1405\" data-end=\"1463\">Here\u2019s a closer look at how his FY25 salary breaks down:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1725\">\n<li data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1554\">\n<p data-start=\"1466\" data-end=\"1554\">\u20b949.5 crore came from exercised stock options, up from \u20b939 crore the previous year<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1555\" data-end=\"1601\">\n<p data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1601\">Base pay remained steady at \u20b97.5 crore<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1602\" data-end=\"1673\">\n<p data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1673\">Variable pay increased to \u20b923.2 crore, from \u20b919.8 crore in FY24<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1674\" data-end=\"1725\">\n<p data-start=\"1676\" data-end=\"1725\">He also received \u20b950 lakh as retiral benefits<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1765\">Outpacing Rivals in the Industry<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"1863\">With this increase, Salil Parekh\u2019s salary has now outpaced other major IT leaders in India.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1864\" data-end=\"2058\">\n<li data-start=\"1864\" data-end=\"1953\">\n<p data-start=\"1866\" data-end=\"1953\">TCS CEO K Krithivasan earned \u20b926.5 crore in FY25 \u2014 a 4.6% hike from the previous year<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"2058\">\n<p data-start=\"1956\" data-end=\"2058\">Wipro CEO Srinivas Pallia took home $6.2 million (approximately \u20b953.6 crore), marking a 10% increase<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2147\">This positions Parekh as the highest-paid CEO among the top three Indian IT giants.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2149\" data-end=\"2185\">Earnings Compared to Employees<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2335\">What\u2019s even more striking is that Parekh\u2019s compensation is 752 times the median remuneration of Infosys employees, which stands at \u20b910.72 lakh.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2337\" data-end=\"2619\">Despite the stark contrast, Parekh emphasized the company\u2019s forward-looking approach in his letter to shareholders.
