And since May 04, 2009, NIFTY Next 50 is computed based on free-float methodology. "NIFTY NEXT 50 - Capturing the performance of 'Next 50' blue-chip companies in the large-cap universe." Also, it represents large-cap companies that are presently constituents of NIFTY 100 and are also potential candidates for the inclusion in NIFTY 50. Its portfolio is well diversified across 14 sectors with the top 5 sectors that represent 76% of its portfolio and at a stock level, where the total weight of the top 10 stocks is approximately 35.4%. Also, it has historically significantly outperformed the NIFTY 50 index, since its inception for the longer investment horizon. It has also outperformed the NIFTY 50, in at least 13 out of 23 calendar years. Such attributes of the NIFTY Next 50 index being coupled with good historical outperformance both on a return as well as risk-adjusted return basis along with a well-diversified portfolio makes the NIFTY Next 50 an appropriate index investment strategy.
