LTI

It was being incorporated as L&T Information Technology Limited as of December 23, 1996, at Mumbai as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956. It also received the certificate of commencement of business on March 25, 1997. Subsequently, the company name was changed to Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited according to a special resolution passed by the Shareholders at the EGM held as of June 11, 2001. The company name was changed to convey the vision for the global brand and to draw strength from The Promoter. According to the name change, a fresh certificate of incorporation was being issued to the company by the RoC as of June 25, 2001. Also, as of the date of this Red Herring Prospectus, it had 1,205 Shareholders (including 11 additional folios being held by certain shareholders of the company).

Some of the Milestones:

  • 1997: The incorporation of the company took place.
  • 2002: It was also assessed at the Optimizing Level 5 of the Capability Maturity Model for Software, Version 1.1 by the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, and the USA for the Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru and Mysuru development centers.
  • 2007: It acquired GDA USA, an electronics design services company.
  • 2008: It established business in South Africa.
  • 2010: It was also appraised at the Maturity Level 5 (Optimizing) of CMMI for Development v1.2 for the units at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Mysuru and Chennai.
  • 2011: It acquired the transfer agency business unit of Citigroup Fund Services Canada Inc. and renamed it as LTIFST.
  • 2013: Also, the business verticals were re-cast into two clusters- industrials and services.
  • 2014: Also, it transferred The PES Business unit to LTTSL.
  • 2015: It acquired ISRC from Otis Elevator Company, USA and Otis Elevator Company (India) Limited, units of United Technologies Corporation.
  • 2016:
  • It was also assessed at maturity Level 5 CMMI-SVC v1.3 for the units at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
  • It was also positioning to cater to “Smart Cities” opportunities that were being identified.
  • 2017: It was assessed at Maturity Level 5 CMMI-DEV v1.3 for the units at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

  • It was recognized as the top company for programs on corporate social responsibility by the International Association of OutsThecing Professionals in the 2016 Global OutsThecing 100 Leader Size Judging Group.
  • Also, Zinnov positioned it in the Leadership Zone for Digital Consulting Services in Zinnov Zones for Digital Services, released in 2016.
  • Its internal newsletter “Ping” received Bronze Award during the Association of Business Communicators India’s 55th Awards ceremony held on March 2016.
  • Its internal digital magazine “All Go Rhythm” received Gold Award at Association of Business Communicators India’s 55th Awards ceremony being held in March 2016.
  • It won three awards during the World Innovation Congress, 2016, concerning (i) Financial Crime EDD Automation Solution that provides automated financial crime enhanced due diligence processes, for being the best innovation in information technology, (ii) MediaHub, which offers cloud-based storage and media conversion, to be the most promising new product technology and (iii) MyCar that connects users to their cars and also enabled them to manage information concerning their cars, for being the most innovative product of the year.
