NiftyTrader’s November 2 exports identified 105 Long Build-up and 31 Short Build-up stocks. NSE’s end-of-day derivatives bhavcopy confirms increasing futures open interest across all 136 stocks in the two exported lists.
Indian equity markets closed sharply higher on Monday, November 2, with the Nifty 50 rising 1.68% to 23,440.80 and the Sensex gaining 1.66% to 75,692.78.
The advance coincided with a higher number of Long Build-up than Short Build-up signals in the two supplied NiftyTrader OI Spurts exports.
The files identified 105 stocks with Long Build-up and 31 with Short Build-up. A comparison with the November 2 NSE F&O bhavcopy confirmed positive aggregate futures OI changes for all 136 stocks.
Reliance Industries stood out after an 11.60% price rally, while Policybazaar recorded a 6.91% decline alongside rising futures open interest.
Reliance Leads Long Build-up After Strong Quarterly Results
Reliance Industries was among the most prominent Long Build-up stocks on November 2.
NiftyTrader’s export recorded an 11.60% price gain and a displayed last traded price of ₹1,300. NSE’s end-of-day derivatives data showed aggregate Reliance futures OI increasing 6.99%, with outstanding positions reaching 17.50 crore shares across the November, December and January contracts.
The rally followed the company’s September-quarter earnings announcement on October 30.
Reliance reported consolidated EBITDA of ₹62,409 crore, up 23.9% year-on-year. Its oil-to-chemicals business recorded a 67.9% increase in EBITDA to ₹25,203 crore, while Digital Services EBITDA grew 17.7% to ₹22,223 crore.
Reuters reported that Reliance accounted for approximately half of the Nifty 50’s gains during Monday’s session.

NBCC, Jindal Steel and PFC Also Register Long Build-up
Several other F&O stocks recorded positive price changes accompanied by increasing futures OI.
| Stock | Price change | NSE EOD OI change |
|---|---|---|
| NBCC | +9.29% | +3.72% |
| Ujjivan Small Finance Bank | +5.76% | +3.46% |
| ONGC | +4.19% | +3.69% |
| Jindal Steel | +3.84% | +8.68% |
| Bank of Baroda | +2.75% | +2.99% |
| Sagility | +1.57% | +11.44% |
| PFC | +1.56% | +7.59% |
Sagility, Jindal Steel and PFC displayed relatively strong OI expansion alongside positive price movements.
Rising prices accompanied by increasing open interest are conventionally classified as Long Build-up. However, the combination cannot independently establish the identity or direction of newly initiated positions.
Policybazaar, Infosys and Lodha Show Short Build-up
Despite the broader market rally, selected stocks displayed falling prices alongside expanding futures OI.
Policybazaar (POLICYBZR) was among the notable examples. Its price declined 6.91%, while NSE end-of-day futures OI increased 13.92%.
Other stocks with Short Build-up signals included:
| Stock | Price change | NSE EOD OI change |
|---|---|---|
| Syrma SGS Technology | −6.97% | +132.10% |
| Lodha Developers | −3.30% | +14.84% |
| Karur Vysya Bank | −3.26% | +158.39% |
| Bank of Maharashtra | −2.91% | +4.39% |
| Infosys | −2.03% | +3.44% |
| City Union Bank | −1.77% | +57.74% |
| CDSL | −0.87% | +9.66% |
| Kotak Mahindra Bank | −0.70% | +1.93% |
The large OI percentage increases in Karur Vysya Bank, Syrma SGS Technology and City Union Bank warrant examination of their starting OI bases and individual contract positioning.
A decline in price accompanied by increasing OI is conventionally classified as Short Build-up. This is consistent with bearish positioning but does not independently prove that newly initiated short trades dominated.
What Should F&O Traders Monitor Next?
The supplied NiftyTrader exports recorded approximately 3.4 Long Build-up signals for every Short Build-up signal.
This describes the balance within the two exported lists, not the complete F&O market. Other classifications, including short covering, long unwinding and neutral signals, are not represented in the files.
Traders can monitor whether Reliance, NBCC, Jindal Steel and PFC retain positive price momentum with expanding OI during the next session.
Similarly, price direction and OI changes in Policybazaar, Infosys and other Short Build-up stocks may help identify whether the existing positioning pattern continues or changes.
Price-and-OI classifications should be assessed alongside trading volume, individual contract expiries, price levels and company developments.
Data methodology
Stock price changes and Long/Short Build-up classifications are from the two NiftyTrader OI Spurts exports supplied for November 2, 2026.
End-of-day OI percentages are independently calculated from the uploaded NSE file FNO_BC02112026.DAT, aggregating FUTSTK positions across three reported expiries: November 23, 2026; December 29, 2026; and January 25, 2027.
All 136 exported stocks were matched to the NSE futures data, and their aggregate OI changes remained positive.
A separate NiftyTrader website snapshot at 3:35 PM IST displayed 106 Long Build-up and 32 Short Build-up signals. That snapshot covers a different set of observations and is not used to calculate the counts in this report.
Vodafone Idea’s unusually large CSV OI percentage was excluded from the article’s highlighted figures because it did not reconcile with NSE’s end-of-day futures OI.
