Tuesday, August 11 brings a packed corporate calendar. BSE Ltd is set to enter the Nifty 50 in place of Wipro from September 30, a rare structural index event, alongside Vodafone Idea’s narrower Q1 loss, a fresh Rs 541 crore order for Bharat Electronics, and a wide spread of June-quarter earnings led by Bosch.

BSE To Replace Wipro In Nifty 50 From September 30
NSE Indices confirmed on Monday that BSE Ltd will enter the Nifty 50, replacing Wipro, effective September 30, 2026, after the close of trade on September 29, a decision by its Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (Equity) as part of the periodic semi-annual review.
BSE qualified on the back of an average six-month free-float market capitalisation of Rs 1,40,879 crore, against Rs 55,930 crore for Wipro, comfortably clearing the required 1.5x threshold over the smallest existing constituent. TVS Motor Company and Divi’s Laboratories were the next eligible names but didn’t meet the threshold.
The reshuffle carries real passive-flow weight: Reuters reported, citing NSE data, that funds tracking the Nifty 50 held about $97 billion in assets as of May 31, meaning the swap forces a mechanical rebalancing trade independent of either company’s fundamentals. BSE shares rallied 4% on Monday to close at Rs 3,596 ahead of the confirmation. Wipro moves into the Nifty Next 50, alongside Hitachi Energy India, Polycab India, Vedanta Aluminium Metal and Vodafone Idea, which are all entering that index too.
Vodafone Idea Narrows Q1 Loss To Rs 3,754 Crore
Vodafone Idea reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 3,754 crore for Q1 FY27, narrowing 43% YoY from Rs 6,608 crore in Q1 FY26. Revenue from operations rose 6% YoY to Rs 11,689 crore, up 3.2% sequentially from Rs 11,332 crore in Q4 FY26. EBITDA grew 9.1% YoY to Rs 5,034 crore, with margin expanding to 43.1% from 41.8%.
On a sequential basis, the comparison looks different: Q4 FY26 had shown a Rs 51,970 crore profit, but that figure was inflated by a one-time Rs 57,491 crore exceptional gain tied to deferred AGR relief, not comparable to this quarter’s operational run-rate.
Q1 FY27’s own exceptional gain was a much smaller Rs 1,611 crore, from remeasurement of settlement assets net of a regulatory provision. Notably, the company recorded its first net subscriber addition since the Vodafone-Idea merger, with ARPU rising to Rs 195 and the subscriber base expanding to 193.1 million.

Bharat Electronics Bags Rs 541 Crore In Fresh Orders
Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics said it has secured additional orders worth Rs 541 crore since its last disclosure on July 31, spanning communication equipment, electro-optics, ammunition fuzes, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) systems, along with spares and services.
This follows a Rs 847 crore order disclosed on July 31. BEL’s order book stood at Rs 72,258 crore as of July 1, 2026. The stock closed at Rs 404.35 on the NSE on Monday, up 0.84%, though it remains down 3% over the past month and 8% over six months.

Bosch Q1 Profit Falls On High Base, Revenue Jumps
Bosch’s Q1 FY27 consolidated profit fell around 37% YoY to roughly Rs 705 crore (Rs 704.9 crore per Moneycontrol, Rs 706.1 crore per IANS, flagged here since the two wire figures don’t fully match) from about Rs 1,115-1,116 crore a year ago. The decline is significantly a base-effect story: Q1 FY26’s profit included a Rs 556 crore one-time exceptional gain from the sale of its Video Solutions, Access and Intrusions and Communication Systems business, while Q1 FY27 carried no exceptional item.
Revenue rose sharply, reported at Rs 5,841.9 crore against Rs 4,788.6 crore a year earlier. Bosch’s investor call is scheduled for August 11 at 4 PM IST with MD Guruprasad Mudlapur and CFO Tillmann Olsen; commentary on the newly completed Bosch Chassis Systems India acquisition (effective July 1) will be watched, as its consolidation impact is expected to show up more meaningfully from Q2 FY27.

Bottom Line
Tuesday’s action centres on a structural index event, BSE’s Nifty 50 entry at Wipro’s expense, layered over a dense Q1 FY27 earnings cycle. Vodafone Idea’s narrower loss and subscriber addition, BEL’s steady order inflow, and Bosch’s base-effect-driven profit dip each carry different read-throughs: one is index-mechanics-driven, the others are fundamentals in need of quarter-on-quarter context rather than a single YoY headline number.
