Network 18 or Network18 Media & Investments is the holding company of the TV18 group, which is one of the country's leading full-play media corporations with interests in the internet, television, print, film entertainment, mobile content, and several allied businesses. It is also formerly known as Network 18 Fincap, which is engaged in both investments and media business. On February 16, 1996, the company was being incorporated as a private limited company and was soon converted into a public limited company as on October 20, 2006. Soon, the company got its present name with effect from December 1, 2007. It operates in a joint venture with Viacom, known as Viacom18 that houses the MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon channels in India and via a business transfer agreement, it also manages Studio18, which is the group's filmed entertainment operations including the recently launched Colors, which is a Hindi general entertainment channel. So through its holding in Television Eighteen India (or TV18), the company also operates India's leading business news television channels named CNBC-TV18 and CNBC Awaaz. It also runs Web18, which is one of the leading internet players, and Newswire, which is one of India's leading real-time financial information as well as news terminals. The company soon acquired Infomedia, which is a leading player in the special interest publishing and printing operations space, and it also marked its entry into the print media that was followed by the collaboration with the Forbes media for the launch of a business magazine in India. It also operates in the general news as well as entertainment space via its holding in IBN 18 Broadcast, along with the leading general news channels CNN–IBN and IBN7 and it has also launched IBN Lokmat, which is a Marathi news channel in partnership with the Lokmat group. Besides, the company also holds the group's online and on-air home shopping venture named as Homeshop18 and its complete spectrum events management venture named as E18. Several other network channels of the company are moneycontrol.com, PowerYourTrade, CommoditiesControl, IBNlive.com, JobStreet India, Yatra, Tech2Com, CricketNext, CompareIndia, Studio18, Capital18, Idniwo, NewsWire18, BookMyShow, Josh18, IBN Lokmat, Biztech2, Buzz18, 52622 Mobile Service, and StoreGuru. Also, both the CNBC–TV18 and CNBC Awaaz are also the subsidiaries of the company in partnership with CNBC, which is an undisputed world leader in information and business news, offering viewers globally with insights, analysis and real-time access to the market data and other essential business data. In 2009, it also acquired the Investment Advisory Business of M/s Capital18 Media Advisors Pvt Ltd.

Also, the company's Allotment Committee has approved the allotment of 18,181,818 Secured Optional Fully Convertible Debentures (or SOFCD) for INR 110 per SOFCD on a preferential basis, to RB Holdings Pvt. Ltd, which is a company that is 100% owned by Raghav Bahl and several other promoters. Once RB Holding Pvt. Ltd converts the existing issue of SOFCD, then it's holding in Network18 would be 18,181,818 shares i.e., 20.13% on a complete diluted basis.
