Pidilite Industries Limited or PIDILITIND

Pidilite Industries, which is a well-known name in the adhesives market, was being incorporated in the year 1969. It is also the market leader in adhesives and sealants, and construction chemicals, and hobby colors and the polymer emulsions in India. Over two-thirds of the company’s sales come from the products and segments which are being pioneered in India. The company has been diversified in various segments such as adhesives and sealants, the construction and paint chemicals, automotive chemicals, industrial adhesives, art materials, industrial and textile resins, and organic pigments and the other preparations. It has also created brands such as Fevicol, Dr. Fixit, Cyclo, hobby ideas, M–Seal, and Roff. And to facilitate the better global networking, the Pidilite Industries have also established offices and subsidiaries in several countries which include Singapore, Brazil, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt, UK, Kenya, and South Africa. In India, it has many subsidiaries which are namely, Bhimad Commercial Company and the Madhubala Traders. It has also established a particular state of the art as the research center in Singapore that is now a member of the Singapore Chemical Industry Council or SCIC.

Some of the Products:

  1. Under the adhesives and glue segment, it has manufactured a wide range of products such as white glue, termite treatment, paper glue, the PVC insulation tape, epoxy putty, and many more. It has created a brand like a terminator, Fevi Stik, Fevikwik, and many more.
  2. The Art Materials and Stationary– Under this, it manufactures the Crayons, Oil pastels, markers, brushes, glass colors, and Acrylic colors, and many more. It also publishes various books on the craft, furniture design, hobby, and many more. And in this section, it has created brands like hobby ideas, colstar, fevicraft, and more.
  3. Construction chemicals– The Pidilite manufactures a wide range of solutions in waterproofing, repair materials, coating, flooring, sealants, and the admixtures.
  4. Fabric Care– the Company, has created various products such as the brightener, starch, stain remover, and whitener. It markets such products under the brand name Ranipal.

The Milestones:

  1. 2009– Pidilite acquires Woodlock, the retail woodworking brand of Henkel.
  2. 2008– Pidilite acquires Holdtite business of Hard Castle Ltd. (Sealants).
  3. 2007 – Pidilite Brazil [Pidilite Do Brasil Desenvolvimento De Negocios Ltda] gained Pulvitec, an Adhesives & Sealants company in Brazil.
  4. 2006 – Pidilite establishes its R&D center in Singapore to attract international talent and expand product innovation strategies.
  5. The company has also acquired Cyclo Industries LLC and the makers of Automotive Maintenance products. The product range includes vital factors such as maintenance, performance, and appearance products for the DIY (Do–it–Yourself) and also the professional car care segment. The Cyclo products are sold in the USA and other 50 different countries.
  6. The Pidilite USA Inc acquires businesses and the assets of Sargent Art Inc., the makers of art materials that have been selling world-class art materials in the USA for more than 50 years.
  7. It has also acquired the Tristar Colman brand and business, also known as Colstar. It is a market leader in brushes for both drawing and painting while Tristar Colman is a well–known brand of canvas as well as student art colors.

Some Awards:

  • ABBY Award 2013: Fevikwik wins Best Brand Website – Bronze.
  • The company bagged ABBY awards for its Integrated Campaign of the year – Silver –2005.
  • It also bagged the Cannes award for its creative advertisement.
