Tech Mahindra Limited or TECHM

The Company was incorporated in 1986 and offered IT services and solutions to the telecommunications sector worldwide. It is a part of the $12.5 billion Mahindra Group, in partnership with British Telecommunications plc. or BT, and among the world’s leading communication service providers. It is primarily focused on the telecommunications industry, as it is a leading global systems integrator and business transformation consulting corporation. It has also recently expanded its IT portfolio by acquiring the leading global business and IT services company, Mahindra Satyam (also known as Satyam Computer Services). The Company's capabilities are spread across a broad spectrum, including Business Tech Mahindra has implemented more than 16 Greenfield Operations globally. It has over 128 active customer engagements mostly in the Telecom sector. The company was also involved in about 8 transformation programs of incumbent telecom operators. The Company's client list includes prominent companies such as British Telecom (BT), AT&T, Motorola, and Alcatel–Lucent are one of them. BT is the largest client that contributes 60% to the company's revenues. It has also received several certifications such as ISO 9001:2000, ISO/IEC 27001:2005, ISO/IEC 20000–1:2005, SEI–CMMI Level 5 P–CMM Level 5 and SSE–CMM Level 3.

  • IT Services– Under this segment, it offers various services such as solution integration, consulting, application development and management, application management, revenue management services, and infrastructure management.
  • Research and Development services– Under this segment, it offers technological solutions such as software development, testing, hardware development, network offering, and more to leading telecom equipment producers worldwide.
  • BPO– Under this segment, it offers outsourcing services in the sectors of finance and accounting, HR Outsourcing, inventory management, order management, and contract management, are among them.

  • 2005:
  • The Company was certified BS 7799–2:2002 (Information Security Management Framework) by RWTUV, currently known as TUV Nord.
  • It acquired Axes Technologies (India) Private Limited, including its US and Singapore subsidiaries.
  • It assessed at Level 5 of SEI CMMI by KPMG.
  • The Largest global development center outside India (in Melbourne) begins operation.
  • The Company acquired Citisoft and Knowledge Dynamics.
  • 2006:
  • The name was changed to Tech Mahindra Limited.
  • It assessed at Level 5 of SEI People–CMM (P–CMM) by QAI India.
  • The Company raised INR 4.65 billion ($100 million) from a hugely successful IPO to build a new facility in Pune, for housing about 9,000 staff.
  • The Company formed a JV with Motorola Inc. under the name CanvasM.
  • It set up the first "Global Innovation Hub" in Singapore.
  • It set up operations in Guangzhou, China.
  • 2007:
  • The Company launched the Tech Mahindra Foundation to address the needs of the underprivileged in society, specifically children.
  • The Company acquired iPolicy Networks Private Limited.
  • The Company announced the Official IT Services Provider for the FIFA World Cup in 2010TM.
  • The Company opens the Global Development Center (GDC) in Malaysia.
  • The first Asian company that was featured in the "Training" Magazine's list of Top 125 companies for learning.
  • 2009:
  • The Company acquired a controlling stake in Satyam.
  • Also, Satyam gets rebranded as 'Mahindra Satyam.'
  • 2010:
  • The Company delivered FIFA World Cup 2010TM.

  • The Company also expands footprints in Latin America.
  • 2011:
  • It inaugurated the Saab India Technology Center.

  • The Merger of Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam announced.
  • The acquisition of Hutchison Global Services.
  • The acquisition of Comviva Technologies Limited.
  • 2013:
  • The Company was positioned in Gartner's 'Leaders' The Quadrant for IT Services for Communications Service Providers.
  • The Mahindra Group forays into Engineering Education with Ecole Centrale Paris.
  • The Tech Mahindra–Mahindra Satyam merger finally completed.
  • The Mahindra Satyam acquires a majority stake in Complex IT.
